      Ramadan 2026

With knowledge we revive them ✨

Throughout the Ramadan projects over the past ten years, the Abjad Initiative has been a true partner in creating hope for more than 10,500 children. We worked side by side with more than 320 teachers to develop a more quality and equitable educational experience. We did not accompany the children alone, but we were also beside their families, listening, supporting, and empowering them to be active partners in their children’s educational journey.

In the Ramadan 2025 project, and with the liberation of Syria, we were able — with your support — to rehabilitate 6 schools, and we contributed to the return of more than 2,500 students to their classrooms within their villages and cities, to begin again the journey of learning with confidence and safety.

Today, in the Ramadan 2026 project “Schools That Embrace Everyone”, we take a deeper step. We move from rebuilding to building comprehensive educational environments that embrace everyone and grant fair and safe opportunities to every boy and girl, including Children with Disabilities, so they receive what they deserve: a real opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their potential.

      Project Goal

Empowering approximately 500 Children with Disabilities to integrate into 10 Fully Rehabilitated Schools,

while strengthening an inclusive and safe educational environment that promotes equality and learning, benefiting more than 4,200 students.

      Why Do We Act Today?

      According to UN reports:

28% of the population in Syria live with challenges that affect their access to basic services.

      • More than 1,000,000 Children with Disabilities need an appropriate educational environment.

      • Children with disabilities are children who need additional support or adaptation in the educational environment due to physical, sensory, intellectual, or developmental challenges, ensuring their fair access to education and full participation in school life.

      • Less than 2% of schools are actually prepared to receive them.

      • There is a shortage in training teachers to manage diverse classrooms.

      • The absence of real preparation leads to formal integration that may end in isolation or school dropout.

      Project Activities

Rehabilitation of 10 Schools to become comprehensive educational spaces:

Implementing integrated development works including entrances, corridors, sanitary facilities, classrooms, and educational spaces to ensure a safe and accessible environment benefiting all students, especially Children with Disabilities.

      Establishing and equipping specialized classrooms:

Opening support classrooms equipped with sensory, visual, and auditory means, educational tools, assistive technologies, and materials adapted to individual needs, enabling children with disabilities and those who suffer from learning difficulties to develop their skills and integrate with confidence.

      Training and empowering 150 teachers:

Implementing a comprehensive practical training program with applied follow-up to ensure effective use of tools and enhance the quality of education within schools.

How Can You Be Part of the Change?

Spread the message — the one who guides to goodness is like the doer of it.

Support equipping a school and contribute to building an environment that embraces everyone.

Sponsor a child’s education and grant them a safe academic year.

Donate now — every contribution makes a real difference.
